Operations Officer – Maternity Cover, Shared Services

Salary:              circa £25k depending on experience
Duration:         6 month Fixed Term Contract
Hours:               Full Time, 36.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced administrator to join the Shared Services Team at Services For Education on an initial 6 month contract with potential to extend. The Operations Officer will work with and alongside colleagues to provide effective high-quality administrative support and excellent customer service enabling key business activities to run smoothly and efficiently.

Full Role Profile – Operations Officer

Key Duties/Activities

  • answering telephone calls from customers and staff, screening and directing queries and taking and relaying messages as necessary
  • triaging mailboxes and responding to/actioning emails as appropriate
  • ensuring information management systems are accurate and kept up to date
  • providing administrative and event support to ensure training courses, meetings and conference events run smoothly and efficiently
  • supporting general administration activities e.g. post, photocopying/printing, welcoming visitors, data entry, updating systems

Role Requirements

  • Proven administrative experience
  • Good interpersonal and telephone skills
  • Able to communicate effectively and accurately both verbally and in writing
  • Able to multi-task, prioritise and manage own work effectively
  • Intermediate/advanced user of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Familiar with using MS Teams
  • Ideally, experience working with information management software such as Salesforce or other CRM packages
  • Good time management skills and strong attention to detail
  • Able to work on their own initiative within a small, agile and busy team with minimal supervision
  • Able to work flexibly in response to changing work needs and priorities within the team
  • Willingness to undertake/deliver training to further develop own knowledge and skills and those of colleagues
