RADICALISATION AND EXTREMISM
Lucie Welch has produced this longer webinar, suitable for all staff, looking at the key terminology around this topic and what it is that we want all staff to be looking out for. She reminds staff by using data and examples of what risk we might encounter in our settings and what we want staff to notice, including the rise of extreme far-right extremism over recent years, religious extremism and the rise of the “incel” culture.
The webinar gives examples of pathways to radicalisation and how vulnerabilities might increase risks a child might be radicalised. Indicators and warning signs for all staff to know are shared and PREVENT and CHANNEL are referenced throughout.
