Services For Education is a growing children’s charity in Birmingham. We use the power of learning and music to improve outcomes for children, young people and communities. Our diverse charitable projects support disadvantaged and vulnerable children, children in care, children and adults with additional needs (including mld, sld, pmld, asd) and adults who are at risk of isolation and loneliness. By joining our team, you would be helping to change the lives of so many people in Birmingham.

OVERVIEW

Join our evolving EDE team and help keep a suite of in-house platforms running smoothly – while also building the next wave of digital improvements. You’ll work closely with our Lead Developer, blending strong engineering fundamentals with AI-augmented development (“Vibe Coding”) to deliver high-quality code at pace.

This is a hands-on development role with a strong BAU foundation: you’ll keep our applications stable, fix issues quickly, and make small enhancements that make a big difference to internal users. Alongside this, you’ll contribute to projects on our digital roadmap using modern tooling (including AI coding assistants) to prototype and deliver faster.

You’ll be trusted to own tickets end-to-end, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and follow good engineering practices (Git workflow, code review, documentation). If you’re curious, pragmatic, and enjoy mixing problem-solving with delivery, you’ll fit right in.

Applications are to be made via CV and covering statement, telling us in less than a side of A4 why this role excites you?

Closing date – 22nd May, please note the role may close sooner if a suitable candidate is found
