At Services For Education, we believe that the ensemble experience is absolutely crucial to any high-quality musical education.

That’s why, every year, we bring together nearly 4,000 young people from across Birmingham and form over 90 ensembles, which are free to join, and are specifically designed to cater for all genres and abilities.

We run two types of Ensembles in Birmingham; Central Ensembles which require an audition and Area Ensembles which do not.

We do not charge for any of our ensembles because imposing a charge would create an immediate barrier for many families who would struggle to afford these costs.

Central ensembles are designed for intermediate through to advanced performers. Ensembles rehearse every week and members benefit from over 100 hours of specialist ensemble tuition.

Find out more about Central Ensembles here.

For more information about joining one of our Central Ensembles please contact ensembles@servicesforeducation.co.uk

We run 36 area ensembles across Birmingham and these provide some of the first opportunities young musicians will have to experience creating music with others.

There is no audition required to take part in our area ensembles.

Find out more about Area Ensembles here.

All of our ensemble members are nurtured and supported by our skilled professional tutors and conductors, developing their confidence and musical abilities.

Members will also take part in memorable performances on the stages of Birmingham’s most prestigious venues, celebrating their musical achievements to packed audiences.

This is a unique experience that our members cherish and are inspired by.
