The summer term’s examinations will take place between Monday 8th June and Friday 11th July 2026 at centres located in the North and South of the city. The Northern centre is Wylde Green United Reformed Church, Britwell Road, Sutton Coldfield, B73 5SW, and the Southern centre is St Columba United Reformed Church, Chantry Road, Moseley, Birmingham, B13 8DJ. All examinations are externally scheduled by ABRSM. Please specify whether you would like to be entered for the North or South when making your exam order.

The ABRSM exam board set their fees for exams annually. This fee does not include the cost of an accompanist (pianist) to play for the students and this is a compulsory part of the exam for many instruments. Fees subsidised by SFE for our accompanists are below:

Grades Initial – 4: Exam day rehearsal and performance – £15

Grades 5 – 8: Additional rehearsal before exam day, exam day rehearsal and performance – £20

The rehearsal day for candidates taking grades 5 – 8 and using our accompanist offer will be confirmed at a later date. Rehearsals will take place at Services For Education, Unit 3, Holt Court, Aston Science Park, B7 4AX (individual rehearsal times to be arranged).

NB* Please email all piano accompaniments to music-exams@servicesforeducation.co.uk stating the candidates name when applications are made. Applications made without sending piano accompaniment copies will not be able to use our accompanist service and this fee will be refunded.
