HOMELESSNESS

Over recent years there has been a real increase in the number of children living in temporary or emergency accommodation of families who are “sofa surfing”. There are also families living in what is categorised as unsuitable accommodation.  All of these situations come under the banner of homelessness and in this webinar Lucie Welch explains why these situations may arise and the risks (physical, emotional and exploitation-related) that it presents to children and families. There is still potential stigma for families in this situation so Lucie gives advice on how to spot signs if staff aren’t told directly and she also explains how professionals can best support children in this situation.
