Services For Education is a growing children’s charity in Birmingham. We use the power of learning and music to improve outcomes for children, young people and communities. Our diverse charitable projects support disadvantaged and vulnerable children, children in care, children and adults with additional needs (including mld, sld, pmld, asd) and adults who are at risk of isolation and loneliness. OVERVIEW

Can you be our first business development manager here at SFE?

As a new role the Senior Business Development Manager at Services For Education (SFE) is a fantastic opportunity for someone with the right experience and ambition to develop and grow a business development function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Income Generation: Engage in various business development activities to support future incremental income.
  • Identify Sales Prospects and Leads: Pitch and sell goods and services.
  • Proactive Business Development: Identify new and emerging markets, and work with teams to develop products and services.
  • Grow and Support Projects: Develop new work that aligns with SFE’s vision, values, and ambitions.
  • Develop Partnerships: Build new and existing external partnerships and add value to the team’s skills.
  • Maintain Relationships: Keep good relationships with current SFE customers and users.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in Business Development: Proven track record in a similar role.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively.
  • Sector Knowledge: Good understanding of primary and secondary education and/or arts sectors would be desirable.
  • Ambassadorial Role: Represent SFE within charitable, educational and business communities.
  • Enthusiasm for SFE Portfolio: Demonstrate enthusiasm and understanding of SFE’s work.

This role is part of the External and Digital Engagement Team, which includes the business development, marketing, fundraising, digital, and IT functions.
The success of this role will be evaluated based on the achievement of annual sales targets.
