8 Festive Activities To Enjoy With Your Children This Christmas

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…

At Services For Education we love the festive season. It’s a fantastic, happy time of year to spend with family.

So today, I wanted to share some of the magical things which are happening in and around Birmingham, this December.

Here is what I found…

1. Santa Safari at West Midland Safari Park

Date and time: Selected dates in November and December (weekdays and weekends)

Price: Adults (16+yrs) – £25.00. Children (3-15yrs) – £20.00.

Who knew Santa liked Safaris? This unique Christmas treat will really make your children go “WOW!”

The magical day out will include a trip to Santa’s Grotto, Winter Wonderland and a Winter Safari.

“With an allocated time to see Santa, you will be greeted in the Discovery Trail by one of his helpful Elves who will show you to the sleigh where you will be magically transported to the North Pole & into Santa’s Grotto!

After meeting Santa, you will make your way to the Elves’ Workshop where children can pick their own present. With a wide selection of gifts to choose from, the children will be spoiled for choice!”

2. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at Birmingham Hippodrome

Date and time: 21st December –  2nd February 2020

“He’s behind you!”

Fancy seeing a show? It wouldn’t be Christmas without pantomimes – and the Hippodrome are famous for theirs.

“Packed with comedy and festive fun, this magical pantomime brings together a galaxy of stars for Britain’s biggest regional panto.”

3. Santa Specials – Severn Valley Railway

Date and time: Every weekend between November 30th to December 22nd, plus December 23rd and 24th.

Price: Tickets start from £20 Per Person

This Christmas treat will give you and your family a festive ride to remember!

“Join Father Christmas for this magical steam train ride from Bridgnorth Station, complete with reserved seats and sweet treats, on board our ALL-NEW Premium Santa Special – a journey you’ll never forget. 4. Free Santa Family Day at Millennium Point

Dates and time: Friday 13th December 2019 – 9.30am – 3.00pm

Price: FREE

For more affordable (free) festive fun, head on down to Millennium Point this Friday.

“Meet Santa under one of Birmingham’s biggest Christmas Trees and meet Santa at Millennium Point in Birmingham City Centre. At this completely free event, each child will be able to meet Santa, will receive a gift and the opportunity to have their photo taken.”

5. Drayton’s Magical Christmas

Date and Time: November 16th – December 31st

Price: Tickets between £5 – £26

There is absolutely heaps to do at Drayton Manor this Christmas.

“Meet Father Christmas in our Castle of Dreams, and make even more special memories with over 25 child-friendly rides and attractions. Plus experience magical character parades, live Christmas shows, falling snow and spectacular fireworks all at Drayton’s Magical Christmas on selected dates from Saturday 16th November until Tuesday 31st December.”

6. Winter Wonderland at Tamworth Snowdome

Date and Time: Every day from 15th November until Christmas.

Price: Starting from £13.95 Per Person. Children under two go FREE.

7. Christmas at Kenilworth Castle

Date and Time: Saturday 7th – Sunday 8th December

Prices: £5 Per Child

8. The Elf Station at Resorts World

Date and Time: Weekends 30th November – 22nd December 11am – 5pm

Price: Free

A festive family day out to Resorts World  could be just the ticket with plenty of activities for children including The Elf Station (free), cinema, “Vortex” and plenty of shops and restaurants.

“Full of free, fun festive activities for little ones of all ages, our elves will help little guests write their letters to Santa, create Christmassy crafts to take home, plus pose for your free photo opportunity for the all-important festive family Facebook album.”

Of course, one of the best things to do around Christmas is to snuggle up next to your Christmas tree and watch a Christmas film or read a Christmas book. Whatever you end up doing, have fun!
