In partnership with Mondelez International, we’re delighted to share that our Health for Life Cookathon will be returning this year, enabling schools across the country to encourage healthy eating amongst pupils.
Open to all schools, the Health for Life Cookathon is a chance to instil core cooking skills within your pupils, with the primary aim of promoting healthy eating throughout your school.
What is the Health for Life Cookathon?
When hearing the phrase Cookathon, your mind may wander to a number of different places. Great British Bake Off? MasterChef? Cooking for a small yet hangry family of four?… (believe us, we’ve been there).
Whilst this Cookathon won’t be airing on BBC or Channel Four, it’s certainly still something to get excited about, and will even feature a celebrity chef…
📍 Taking place on Wednesday 28th of February, we’re inviting your school to share in our love for healthy eating by cooking along with a celebrity chef and fellow schools/settings in your area.
👩🍳 Our celebrity chef, who will be revealed closer to the event, has created a recipe specifically for Cookathon participants and will record a cooking masterclass in time for the event. They will also be joining a chosen school to cook on the day of the Cookathon!
✔️ Sign up closer to the time to gain access to the specially crafted, healthy, Cookathon recipe, an equipment list of what will be needed, alongside hints and tips on how to make the Cookathon a truly succesful event at your school, involving your whole school community. Details to follow.
How will the Cookathon benefit your setting?
We all want the best for the children in our setting, including wanting them to live long and healthy lives. The Health for Life Cookathon aims to assist schools in educating pupils as to the core skills needed to develop sustainable, healthy cooking skills.
Participating in this year’s Cookathon could directly benefit your setting in a number of ways, including:
- Offer your pupils a real-life opportunity to embed your DT curriculum in an inspiring way.
- Inspire your pupils to consider future careers in catering and hospitality, whilst experiencing fun and healthy eating.
- Promote healthy eating habits to your school and the wider community.
