An independent and fresh set of eyes can professionally challenge Maths provision within your school in a supportive way. Our Maths Audit will comprehensively review the quality of your Maths provision and work alongside your Maths Lead to evaluate the effectiveness of your Maths curriculum, teaching and learning and assessment. Supported by both verbal and written feedback, our Maths Audit will ensure your Maths Lead feels confident and prepared for those Ofsted graded inspection deep-dives, or your ungraded inspection conversations and extended learning walks.

Description

Working alongside your Maths Lead, our experienced Maths expert will undertake a range of audit activities in your school focussing on agreed priorities or areas identified in your school improvement plan.  Activities may include:

  • Joint Learning walks and lesson observations.
  • Pupil voice – this can focus on key groups of learners; to include PP, SEND, previous high attainers.
  • A focused discussion with your Maths Lead examining curriculum intent, implementation and impact.
  • A review of your approach to interventions, DIRT, same day catch-up, curriculum recovery, PP closing the gap strategies.
  • Work / book scrutiny (to include HAP/MAP/LAP/SEND/PP) or bespoke groups as identified by school, and with a sample of work from other curriculum areas to explore and evaluate how maths is used more widely)

Our Maths expert will provide verbal feedback outlining initial findings and a more detail written report to assist your school with developing your Maths provision further.

Helen Grundy - Adviser, Services For Education

Helen's journey began in 1998 when she proudly graduated with a first-class honour’s degree in English and Education Studies. Her time studying in Amsterdam at the Hogeschool Holland added a TESOL element to her degree, opening her eyes to international approaches to education.

Her teaching career in Staffordshire saw her excel in various roles, from subject leadership to SENCo and SLT. Helen's passion and dedication led her to become a Leading Maths Teacher, supporting colleagues and ultimately transitioning into consultancy and advisory roles.

Joining Services For Education in 2015 as an Education Adviser, Helen's initial focus on Maths Advising quickly expanded to include managing the highly successful Health for Life in Primary Schools programme and overseeing ECT Induction. Her expertise is also sought after for delivering parts of the nationally recognised NPQ suite of qualifications.

Helen's journey is not just a career, but a testament to her unwavering commitment to education and the betterment of schools and students.
